Each social network has unique video requirements like file size limits and aspect ratios.

Blaze will help with some of the processing for more technical limitations, so be prepared for some processing time as you upload and post your videos to social.

Before we get into the nitty gritty details by platform, here are a few quick definitions to make sure we're on the same page.

What video file types does Blaze support for upload?

Blaze supports jpg, png, mp4 and mov, iOS mov, Android mp4 file type uploads.

What is an aspect ratio?

Aspect ratios are the ratio between an image's width and height. Most people express aspect ratios as two numbers separated by a colon, e.g., 9:16 where 9 corresponds to width and 16 corresponds height. Aspect ratios can also be expressed as a numerical value, which is just the first number divided by the second number, e.g., in the case of our 9:16 example, 9/16 = 0.56.

Do requirements differ within the same platform?

Yes. For example, Instagram has different requirements between image and video direct feed posting. And they even have different requirements for Reels and Stories.

Platform Requirements

We have summarized aspect ratio requirements by platform below. Note that each platform does have min and max resolution limit as well, but they are not documented here because not many customers run into these limits with our video processing.
