What are Templates?

Templates in Blaze Designer are fully editable, predesigned content that you can use for inspiration or to simply repurpose into your own content.

Viewing Templates

To access templates, simply select the Template tool from toolbar at the top of the screen.

You can use search and the filters in the sidebar to narrow down the list of designs available to use.

Backup Existing Work

If you are working on a design, its a good idea to save a copy of your existing design before swapping out templates to preserve your existing work. Just in case you decide later that you want to go back to your original design.

To save a backup:

  • Click the Ellipsis located at the top of the screen

  • Click Make a Copy

  • Give your copy a name.

  • Verify/Select the project to store your backup.

  • Click Make a Copy

Selecting a Template

Once you locate a template you want to use or swap out. Simply click it to create a copy on your canvas.

You will need to confirm that some or all of your shapes could be replaced.

Accessing the Layer Stack

Regardless of what side panel you are in, clicking the back arrow will reveal the layer stack.

Adjusting Layer Order

Layers at the top of the stack will appear in front of other elements in your design.

Layers at the bottom of the stack will appear behind elements (or in back).

Clicking and dragging layers in the layer stack will change how layers appear in your design.

In the animation below, the circle appears behind the square. When the circle layer is dragged to the top of the layer stack it appears in front of the square.

Swapping Elements

Select an image that you want to replace from the layer stack. Once selected, options for the image will appear above the image and in the side bar.

Locate and select the Replace tool.

Locate a Replacement

Use the Blaze Image workflow to locate a replacement. The Blaze Image workflow allows you to:

  • Generate - Generate an image using BlazeAI.

  • Upload - Upload an image or video from your computer.

    • Recently Uploaded Media - Content you have previously uploaded or generated.

  • Add file link - Link to a file on the web.

  • Stock Images - Search and select an image from the stock image library.

Once you select your replacement the Blaze Image workflow window will disappear, taking you back to the Canvas.

Adjust the Image Crop

The example shown below is of an image of two cups of coffee replacing the template image of a person welding. The new image of the coffee cups inherit the crop information from the original image.

This can be easily adjusted by clicking and holding Ctrl on your keyboard (Cmd on a Mac) and dragging the handles of the image around to adjust the crop.

Continue to adjust and tweak the template elements to refine the design to be suit your design idea.
