What is the Media tool?

The Media tool is an interface in Blaze Designer that allows you to source and add images and videos to your design.

The following categories of content are accessible in the Media tool:

  • Upload - A hotspot to upload videos and images to your blaze account.

  • Use AI - Generate images using Blaze AI.

  • Media Library - Existing media uploaded or generated on your Blaze account.

  • Stock Videos - Royalty free videos included with your Blaze subscription.

  • Stock Photos - Royalty free images included with your Blaze subscription.

Browsing Media Content

  • Locate and select the Media tool at the top of the screen.

  • The Media sidebar will pop out with all of the categories of media available.

  • Clicking See all on a category will expand to show the full array of options available in that category.

  • Clicking Search on a category will allow you to search through the content available in that category.

Creating Media

Locate media in sidebar and click on it to add a copy of the image or video to your canvas.

You can add multiple images to the canvas by repeating the creation process.

You can only add one video to your canvas.

Adjusting Images

When an Image is added to the canvas it can be moved, resized, and rotated.

Moving Images - Click and drag the media layer to move it around on the canvas.

Resizing Images - Use the handles on the bounding box to resize your media.

Rotating Images - Click and hold the rotation icon located at the bottom of your selected media to adjust the rotation.

Adjustments

When you select media on your canvas a handful of options will appear above the media as well as in the sidebar.

Additional options are located inside of the ellipsis button.

Exploring and Experimenting with Options

You can experiment with options located in the sidebar to adjust the appearance of the media on your canvas. Adjustments in the sidebar will only apply to the current media that you have selected.

Options will vary based on the type of media you have selected. For example, Images will have more options than video.

1-Click Background Removal (Images only)

Use the background icon to cut the subject of your image out. This option can be toggled on or off as needed.

Adding Videos

When a video is added to the canvas, by default it is scaled down to show the full width of the video on the canvas.

The image below demonstrates the default placement. In this position, the video can be dragged up or down, it can not be adjusted side to side.

Clicking the Fill Canvas button will scale the video up to fill the entire canvas. When the video is scaled up, you can click and drag the video left and right to adjust which part of the video is shown on the canvas, but not up or down.

Undo and Redo

if you make a mistake while working on your design, you can use the undo and redo buttons inside of Blaze Designer to undo or redo changes.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts

  • Windows Users - Ctrl + Z to undo and Ctrl + Shift + Z to redo

  • MacOS Users - Cmd + Z to undo and Cmd + Shift + Z to redo

Accessing the Layer Stack

Regardless of what side panel you are in, clicking the back arrow will reveal the layer stack.

Adjusting Layers

Layers at the top of the stack will appear in front of other objects and images in your design. Layers at the bottom of the stack will appear behind objects or images in your design.

Clicking and dragging layers in the layer stack will change how layers appear in your design.

In the example below the circle appears behind the square. When the circle layer is dragged to the top of the layer stack it appears in front of the square.
