Sharing documents is an essential part of your experience collaborating in Blaze. Blaze allows you to share documents with specific members of your Workspace, individual Guests, or publicly (with or without password protections).

By default, docs are private until you grant access to other users.

Sharing docs or projects with Workspace Members

  1. Select Share in the top right corner of your document or project. By default, documents created in your default project are private until you grant access to other users.

  2. Click Edit Access or Invite People and type in user name, a group, or email and select their level of access:
Edit: Users can make direct edits to the document as well as share the document with others.
Comment: Users can add comments to the document.
Read-Only: Users can read the document.

  3. You can optionally write a custom message that will be sent to your collaborators with the access notification.

Inviting Guests

You can collaborate with people outside of your organization in Blaze by sharing access to individual documents via their email address.

The guest(s) you invite to the doc or workspace will receive an email notifying them of your invitation.

Be careful not to invite a guest (such as a vendor or contractor) inadvertently to your workspace, as they may gain access to all your documents.

Inherited access

Users can access documents or files created within projects they have access to with Inherited access.

When a user has inherited access to a file or folder, you will see a notification in the Share view. To adjust this access, remove the user's access to the parent folder and include them only on the specific files you would like them to have access to.

Sharing by Link

Link Sharing allows you to give edit, comment, or read access to your document via a URL.

Click the Share by Link button on the Share modal and click Publish. Then select your desired access level: Edit, Comment, or Read.

You can add an additional layer of security by adding a password.

The password must be at least 6 characters and not contain any spaces.
